In yoga like anything in life, we make an attempt to do a pose modified and when we are ready, shoot if we want to, we go to our edge and attempt the next stage of that pose, then when we know we can do more, boom we are at the full expression of a pose to our body.
Well ideally this is how one could attempt in doing yoga. Don’t get me wrong, there is no right or wrong way to your practice. If the ability of Salamba Saravangasana is just way over your head, and it can be, there is nothing wrong with having integrity with your back flat on the ground and your legs are active in the air. This is fine.
I am talking about those who sit there uncertain and yet has the full capability to go further. In life, I don’t want to hold you back to your fullest potential. If I can see that there are no true physical reason to prevent you from not being able to do a pose fully you I will push. Baring witness to see you grow from Legs up in the air to Shoulder stand to Halasana is inspiring.
Many don’t know what they are capable of because nobody pushed them when they couldn’t push themselves to keep going.
